Indie Animation Spotlight

August 27, 2014

Hullabaloo
If you had to choose one film project to help support this year: Hullabaloo is definitely worth a look. A passion project of Disney veteran James Lopez, this talented animator and his colleagues have spent their free time over the past few years developing a beautifully hand drawn steampunk film with its eclectic characters. Although these animators took on this endeavor for their obvious love of animation, their goal is to also send a strong message to the major studios that 2D animation is far from a dying art form.

Hullabaloo‘s Indiegogo campaign launched this week and has many perks for funders that range from T-shirts & digital copies of Hullabaloo to original artwork and animation courses, so please check out the website and help prove that 2D animation is here to stay via donations and link sharing.

Amara Gets A Makeover

August 31, 2013

Amara There has been some interest about the warrior in our old logo, and since she recently underwent new character designs by Acacia Torres, we’d like to take this time to introduce you to Amara: Warrior Priestess of the Nri Kingdom.

There are plans to create a graphic novel and a hand drawn animated feature about her story in the future, but for this year first things first: obtain 501(c)3 status, then release Detecter Pig for your viewing pleasure.

Film Festival Prep

April 30, 2013

Still plugging away at both the artistic and business sides of Detecter Pig so we can make the film festival deadlines: we’ll spare you the nonprofit biz details and instead share some concept artwork by one of Legends Animated’s artists, Hung Tai
