Indie Comic of the Week (Free Preview!)

Happy New Year everyone! Since it’s the season for resolutions we’ve decided to make one of our own: the animation we produce is based on indie comics, so we figure why not promote indie comics as well? Legends Animated’s goal is not only to offer art students opportunities to make their professional break in the animation industry, but also to provide indie comic artists with animated versions of their comics in order to attract mass attention to their own work.

So along with providing updates on our animation productions, we will also dedicate posts to any interesting indie/alternative/small press comic books we come across (note: the comics we promote does not necessarily mean they’re in production at Legends Animated: often times they could simply be favorites from our crew). This week’s comic is Neelakshi: The Quest for Amrit by Ashok Rajagopalan and Asvin Srivatsangam; if you would like to read its free preview you can do so here.

About the Author

Legends Animated is a nonprofit that promotes the awareness and appreciation of animation as a medium for powerful storytelling. In doing so we provide collaborative opportunities to create independent animation that aids the movement of transcending animation from its current status as a children's genre to becoming fully recognized by the general public as a true art form.
